If you do not need the 35 to 40 miles per hour charge at home you can save a lot of money with this 16Amp level 2 charger.  See picture.    I ran 240v 20amp over to the corner of my barn(#10 wire) with a 6-20 plug .  These charger/cord sets are only 16 amp and plug into this type 20 amp 240volt socket..  Charges at about 10 miles per hour.   Much cheaper wire run/breaker and  $175 cord set vs $500+ full EVSE.   Uses a J1772 connector which your Tesla has an adaptor for.   You can even mount outside like I did.  Cut off plug, go thru wall, top with a plastic garden hose carrier to protect from rain.  Wire cord permanently to a box mounted on inside of the wall.(has 6-20 plug on inside for my table saw)  Purchase a plastic J1772 hood to hold the plug to make even better.  All weather tight.  Search ev charger level 2 16 amp

My daughter uses this charger on her Prius Prime as I have the expensive Tesla charger in my garage.  But my Tesla charges on it fine and I us it occasionally.

    Enjoy Ant
