Thanks to everyone who attended this month's Glen Park event.

(Check out the attached photo of the same parking lot a week later--we lucked out supremely being able to park everyone that day!)

We liked the Village so much, we're back this Saturday 6/26 for a casual follow-up in the afternoon:  https://www.tocnys.org/event-4383438

Please stay tuned for info on our July 10 meetup, any day now--it is set to be a big one! . . . AND HERE IT IS!  https://www.tocnys.org/event-4386135

We made the best of some windy weather to hold the second annual TOCNYS Finger Lakes region + Niagara Frontier region at Dave's Ice Cream in Batavia.

Eleven members, nine guests and two pups joined us, though we missed our Finger Lakes Regional Organizer Rick Cognata and his wife Suzanne who were unable to attend.

The 6 p.m. event started with a comical twist when a couple in a pickup truck noticed my hood was wide open and asked if I needed help. My response was something like, "Probably . . . but the car's just fine." Score one for teaching the public that there's no engine in the frunk.

This had to be one of the most social gatherings in a while—with the mask mandate lifted, we saw more smiles than ever. Conversations went on and on, and that included several new members (we had two Model Y owners present).

One of our couples traveled all the way in from Cortland. Peter and Susan Grimm in their Performance Model S, invited everyone to pay a visit to the Central NY Living History Center, where you'll see a permanent and rotating collection of antique Brockway Trucks, native to Cortland; the Homeville Museum ofAmerican and local military and railroad history collections from the Civil War era to the present; and Tractors of Yesteryear—antique collections of tractors from the Central NY Tractor Club and antique agricultural equipment.

We also welcomed a pair of Batavia locals, Dr. Bernie Asher and Chris and Diane Deleo and sons. With their silver unicorn Model 3, we showed off a wide array of models and colors for other locals to see . . . including one blue Model 3 that waved to us on their way by, but didn't take our cue to join in. Maybe next year.

Meantime, check out all the other Finger Lakes and Niagara Frontier members who attended within our photo album here.

Thanks to all who participated. Keep on the lookout for our June meetup event schedules, due to be out soon!

Thanks to all sixteen members and guests who made it to our first meetup in the City of Tonawanda. No less than nine Teslas converged on the edge of Niawanda Park under an astounding break of sunshine.

New member John Zukowski was kind to bring his Model Y to show off and even offer a demo drive to our friends Danny and Lisa Maher, in between opportunities to show off a Hansshow power frunk modification and other upgrades.

Other friends of TOCNYS, Abdur-Rahman Morgan and Bob Seemueller, had their respective Ioniq and Volt on site. In addition to all the public outreach they already do in the world of EVs and charging infrastructure, Rahman intends to start a monthly meetup featuring a different brand of EV each time. A novel way to get a glimpse at the rest of the industry and help boost awareness of electrification in WNY.

We welcomed two other special guests, in their class uniforms, no less. High School students Theo and Dylan had a chance to experience their first Tesla ride thanks to Plaid member James VanSchoonhoven. Theo had originally contacted TOCNYS to express his interest in learning more about Tesla vehicles, and already is off to a great start as a future owner.

At sixteen years of age, Theo is on another level of affinity for the brand, though classmate Dylan is still holding out for a Hellcat. Still, they wound up chatting with members throughout the meetup (and after, at Mississippi Mudd's), providing us with keen insight on what the next generation of Tesla owners (and crypto hodlers) stands to offer. Bring it on!

This month was a casual meet-and-greet, though we're planning to resume a group drive in June. Stay tuned for details and thank you for participating in these monthly in-person meetups—we count on it as our roster amps up, month by month!

See the Google Photos album here.

p.s.: Don't forget to sign up for our second annual Finger Lakes / Niagara Frontier group meetup for ice cream in Batavia, Saturday 5/22!

Remember to register for this weekend's monthly meetup on 5/8, along the water in the City of Tonawanda! Did someone say ice cream? . . .

Also, sign up for the Finger Lakes region's annual "half-way" meetup with us in Batavia for even more ice cream on 5/22! (Okay, and non-dairy desserts too, at both places, if you're into that.)

Thanks to everyone who participated in our first group drive of the year!

Nine owners along with nine family members gathered at the original Buffalo Supercharger under optimal conditions at 10 a.m. sharp on April 10, 2021.

Aside from one couple who had a COVID vaccine appointment priority, we snaked our way behind the Shops at Clarence Mall (or whatever it's called now!) and hung a left on Route 5 until we hit Newstead.

A brief mass-up within Akron Falls Park—truly a quiet place, even on a Saturday morning—and we were off again. That included a cruise down the same stretch of Main Street in Akron where they shot "A Quiet Place: Part II" and then due north to our destination.

(Ed. note: I was hoping to share some dashcam footage of a daring deer that almost halted our drive, but forgot to honk and never captured the darn incident. Take my word for it, please!)

A pair of other couples met us at the destination: the Cayuga Marsh (Pool) Overlook at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge in Genesee County. Binoculars out and ready, we tried our best to spot the bald eagles who nest in the distance. It's not clear if anyone got a glimpse, but we were busy having a good time out in the wild, as it were.

Special thanks to Eric Milligan and his daughter/navigator for keeping the caravan in one piece, and to all of our members representing the Niagara Frontier and Finger Lakes regions.

The captioned photo album is here!
